Image 8-17-13 at 2.43 PMWhat do you do when you crave something sweet, miss Nutella, and want a fun simple treat for your entire family?

You make this…

IMG_1751I am a huge fan of Justin’s nut butters (although not all of them are vegan, so be careful!). The chocolate hazelnut butter blend is my favorite! Thank goodness it’s vegan! This decadent pizza is so easy to make. It could be a dessert, a lunch, a snack or whatever you want it to be. Just spread the nut butter onto the crust. I used one cup, but it was a bit too much. I would suggest using about 3/4 cup.

IMG_1757I love this spreading knife from the brand Cutco which is very expensive. You could easily get a cheaper version, or use any butter knife for spreading.

photoChop up about one handful of hazelnuts, and one handful of walnuts. Then lightly toast them in a skillet or pan on the stovetop, or in your toaster oven. I simply spread the chopped nuts onto my toaster oven tray and set the toaster oven to the lightest setting possible to toast them. So easy! Pour the toasted nuts into a bowl to grab and sprinkle the desired amount onto your nut butter-covered pizza.

IMG_1764Place in the oven (which was pre-heated to 450 degrees F.) on a pizza stone (or directly onto the oven rack if you don’t have one) for about  7-10 minutes depending upon the size of the crust. The crust I used was very thin, so 7 minutes was sufficient. When the pizza comes out of the oven, sprinkle with as much powdered sugar as you desire.

Cut into slices, and enjoy this simple decadent pie!

 VEGAN CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT PIZZA

Inspired by Pizza Fusion

Ingredients:

One pre-made vegan pizza crust (or make your own if you are feeling ambitious)

Approximately 3/4 cup Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Blend Nut Butter (or desired amount)

One large handful of chopped hazelnuts (or desired amount)

One large handful of chopped walnuts (or desired amount)

Vegan powdered sugar (desired amount for sprinkling)

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees F.

Chop up about one handful of hazelnuts, and one handful of walnuts. Lightly toast them in a pan or skillet on the stove top, or on a tray in your toaster oven. Be careful not to burn them.

Spread about 3/4 cup Justin’s Chocolate Hazlenut Butter Blend (or use more, or less, as desired) onto the pizza crust. Sprinkle your desired amount of the lightly toasted chopped hazelnuts & walnuts on top of the nut butter. Place in the oven on a pizza stone (or directly onto the rack if you don’t have one) for approximately 7 to 10 minutes (depending upon the thickness and size of your crust). I used a thin crust, so 7 minutes was fine.

Carefully remove your pizza from the oven (please use oven mitts) and sprinkle with powdered sugar, as desired.

Slice, serve & enjoy! My sons had the leftovers for breakfast today!
